  • increase motility: gets stomach ready for digestion

  • gets food going
  • distended stomach from food in stomach
  • ph rise from food

  • abdominal pain from excessive acid
  • distal duodenum, beyond normal ulcer location

  • fasting important: food stimulates gastrin release
  • no food, no gastrin release

  • gastrin stimulate parietal cells that are destroyed
  • gastrin keeps rising and rising

CCK

  • delay gastric emptying to allow time for bile secretion

  • triglycerides not stimulus

  • taking picture of gall bladder, alternate to US

Secretin

Somatostatin

  • nerves throughout body: inhibit many other things throughout body

GIP

  • I for insulin. Ijk for k cell

VIP

  • VIP tumors loss acid production in stomach

Motilin

  • keep things moving in GI tract when not eating
