19 CNS Aneurysm
Overview


- saccular: outgrowth like a sac from vessel wall, causes subarachnoid hemorrhage
- lacunar stroke: obstruction of small vessels, rupture = charcot

Rupture



- xanthochromia: yellow discoloration of CSF
- no focal deficits: bleeding not in lobes of brain (no weakness, sensory, motor problems)

Berry Aneurysm

- Acomm most common
- Pcomm second most common
AComm

- if very large and unruptured can cause symptoms
PComm


- if aneurysm, it will compress constrictors and dilate the pupil
Charcot Bouchard

- ICH: intracerebral hemorrhage
