TESTS NEEDED
- FULL PFT
- ABG
- 6MWT and mMRC
- HIGH RESOLUTION CT CHEST
- TTE
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Nonsmoker for at least 6 months
- 6 week exacerbation-free (prednisone < 20mg/day)
- Completed Pulmonary Rehab program
- FEV1 < 45% AND > 15%
- TLC > 100%
- RV > 150% (>175% Zypher)
- DLCO >20%
- BMI < 35 and >15
- ABG PaCO2 < 50 mmHg and PaO2 >45mmHg
- 6MWT > 140m
- mMRC scale >= 2 m
- LVEF >45%
- PAP <45 mmHg
EXCLUSION CRITERIA
- Active Respiratory Infection
- Increase/change in medications in last 4 weeks
- Uncorrected coagulopathy
- Nickel allergy, Silicone allergy
- Current smoker
- Bullae >1/3 of lung
- Heavy sputum production (>4 tbls per day)
- Prior lung volume surgery or lobectomy or transplant
- ASA 4
- Uncontrolled pulmonary hypertension (>45 mmHg)
- Severe hypercapnea >50 mmHg
- Any contraindication to bronchoscopy
