BLVR selection criteria


TESTS NEEDED

  • FULL PFT
  • ABG
  • 6MWT and mMRC
  • HIGH RESOLUTION CT CHEST
  • TTE

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Nonsmoker for at least 6 months
  • 6 week exacerbation-free (prednisone < 20mg/day)
  • Completed Pulmonary Rehab program
  • FEV1 < 45% AND > 15%
  • TLC > 100%
  • RV > 150% (>175% Zypher)
  • DLCO >20%
  • BMI < 35 and >15
  • ABG PaCO2 < 50 mmHg and PaO2 >45mmHg
  • 6MWT > 140m
  • mMRC scale >= 2 m
  • LVEF >45%
  • PAP <45 mmHg

EXCLUSION CRITERIA

  • Active Respiratory Infection
  • Increase/change in medications in last 4 weeks
  • Uncorrected coagulopathy
  • Nickel allergy, Silicone allergy
  • Current smoker
  • Bullae >1/3 of lung
  • Heavy sputum production (>4 tbls per day)
  • Prior lung volume surgery or lobectomy or transplant
  • ASA 4
  • Uncontrolled pulmonary hypertension (>45 mmHg)
  • Severe hypercapnea >50 mmHg
  • Any contraindication to bronchoscopy
