dexamethasone and methylprednisolone do not have mineralocorticoid effects to be used for stress dose steroids

Do not use dexamethasone or methylprednisolone for septic shock patients as they do not have mineralocorticoid effects.1 However, in Covid patients who are receiving dexamethasone and are in septic shock, you do not need to add hydrocortisone.2
