dysanapsis in spirometry can be normal or precursor to COPD


  • dysanapsis is when there is normal FEV1 but decreased FEV1/FVC ratio
  • this could be normal physiologic variant (e.g. tall young male with large FVC)
  • could also be precursor to actual COPD1
