• PI: pulsatility index. How hard heart is working. Can be unreliable when machine first placed in since the heart is adjusting

• retrograde flow can happen if power is not restored

• CPR is probably ok but be cautious
• probably not cardiac event causing arrest because native heart is already weak and there is heart pump¹
