• In US, usually from traveling to other areas

• Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), and Ancylostoma duodenale (hookworm)

• Sx:

  • early: transient pulmonary: dry cough, sob
  • long term: gi, N/V, diarrhea
  • peipheral eosinophilia
  • positive FOBT

• Rx: albendazole, oral; mebendazole better for whipworm
