Hypoxia can occur when someone is tachycardic with lung infection. This happens because there's decreased diffusing capacity. When someone has a fever, oxygen demand goes up. Heart rate then goes up in response. Blood flows faster through the lung, and less time is available for oxygen to diffuse through. Therefore, the person can become hypoxic
