increase sensitivity of pacemakers by lowering mV

- pacemaker will see based on how high the “brick-wall” is
- 0.5: will see QRS but will also see T wave
- increase sensitivity by lowering number on pacemaker
- increase sensitivity leads to pacemaker sense more noise and less pacing
- decrease sensitivity by increasing the mVolts
- decrease sensitivity leads to pacemaker sense less and more pacing
- atrium usually need 0.5 mV sensing
- ventricles need 2.0 mV sensing

- increase sensitivity
- pacemaker capturing but not sensing patient’s own rhythm1
