GOLD guideline recommends given COPD patients antibiotics in following scenarios:

• if patient has clinical signs of pneumonia
• if patients meets 2/3 criteria of COPD exacerbation (increased sputum, increased purulence, increased dyspnea)
• if patient has hx of COPD and is needing NIV/intubation¹
