Low PAPi is predictor of mortality in right sided heart failure


PAPi is often used as predictor of RV failure in inferior MI and as monitoring for left assist ventricular device placement.

It's also associated with mortality in pulmonary arterial hypertension.1

A low PAPi (closer to 1) is associated with increased all cause mortality and major cardiac event.2

PAPi is ratio of pulmonary artery pulse pressure to right atrial pressure
