Idarucizumab, a monoclonal antibody fragment that binds dabigatran, neutralizes dabigatran activity, and rapidly reverses the anticoagulant effects. It is the only specific reversal agent currently available for patients taking dabigatran who present with major bleeds. Importantly, it does not have any effect in reversing direct factor Xa inhibitors, including apixaban (choice A is incorrect).
