Small randomized controlled trial published in 2018 in Chest found TXA can be safely used to control bleeding in patients with nonmassive hemoptysis. Patients with massive hemoptysis (>200cc/24hrs) were excluded. TXA group had shorter hospital stay and faster resolution of hemoptysis compared to inhaled NS. ¹
