DAH diffuse alveolar hemorrhage causes can have different etiologies

DAH is a rare clinical syndrome characterized by acute onset hypoxemic respiratory failure caused by progressive diffuse alveolar infiltrates and is the most likely cause of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure in this patient. DAH is a known complication in patients with systemic inflammatory disorders or hematologic malignancies and is characterized into four categories: immune associated, congestive heart failure, idiopathic, and miscellaneous. Miscellaneous causes of DAH include infections, malignancies, drugs, and hematopoietic stem cell transplants.12
